The Bible

We believe in the Holy Scriptures consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old Testament and New Testament as originally given by God. It is the only inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy and final word of God, sufficient for salvation and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. In these scriptures those things necessary for salvation and righteous living are so clear that unlearned readers may, with the help of God's spirit, sufficiently understand them. All Christian men and women should therefore seek to read God's word aided by God's Spirit (Acts .17:2, 3; Acts 18:28; Romans 15:4; I Corinthians 2:13; II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:21).

God

We believe in the one and only living God, revealed in Scripture, and existent in three persons of one substance, power and eternity. God the Father, God the Son eternally begotten of the Father and not created, and God the Holy Spirit. These three persons though one, differ in their order of operation - for the Father wills, the Son accomplishes, and the Holy Spirit completes. This God is infinite in being, eternal, changeless, almighty, all-knowing, omnipresent, forgiving and full of grace and yet holy, therefore hating and punishing all sins. We believe in this God as the one who made all things from nothing, upholding all by His word of power, governing all by His eternal providence, and who from the dust made man, both male and female, in His own image, and so is the Maker and Ruler of all peoples of whatever race and tribe (Genesis 1:1, 26, 2:7; Psalm 139; Hebrews 13:8; Malachi 3:6; I Peter 1:16; I John 1:9; Romans 6:23; Matthew 28:18-19; Mark 12:29; John l:l-5,14;Acts 5:3-4; II Corinthians 13, 14; Hebrews 1:1-3; Revelation 1:4-6).

Jesus

We believe in our Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God; God manifest in the flesh, born of the Virgin Mary, one person with distinct natures, being both truly God and truly man. We believe in His vicarious atoning death as finally and completely satisfying the justice and wrath of God; His bodily resurrection, His ascension, exaltation and present mediatorial work, and His future, personal visible and sudden return to power and glory at a time known to God to judge the earth after which all things will be united in Him (John 1:1, 14; Matthew 1:18-25, 28:1-20; Mark 16:1-3; Luke 24:1-53; John 20:11-19; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 8:34; I Thessalonians 4:16-17; I Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 7:25).

Holy Spirit

We believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit who being God convicts man of his sin, regenerates and indwells the believer, and empowers him to live a holy life, to be a witness to the work of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to exercise his authority in Christ over the power of darkness (John 3:16; 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 6:19, 12:13).

Salvation

We believe in the salvation of man by God's grace through personal faith in Christ crucified and risen. This faith is entirely apart from works of righteousness, which we have done, but must be accompanied by true repentance without which there is no salvation (true repentance implies a hatred of our sinful way and a turning from disobedience to seek obedience and His word in all things). This salvation includes forgiveness of sins, reconciliation with God and deliverance from the power of Satan, justification, adoption as a child of God, restoration to favor, redemption of the body sure hope of sharing the glory of God (John 1:7, 12:13, 3:3-8, 14:6; Acts 4:12, 16:30-31; Romans'6:23, 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9; I Peter 1:14-16). We believe in the scriptural teaching of the fall of man and sinfulness and guilt before the Holy God whose law all mankind has broken; of his lost condition, and his utter inability to save himself from the power and penalty of sin (Genesis 6:5; Psalm 14:6, 51:5; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:10-19, 8:6-7; Ephesians 2:1-3).
